Description

New Balance Numeric has teamed up with Brazilian pro skater Tiago Lemos and iconic music brand Roland for a new take on the 808 silhouette, set to release August 8, 2025. Dubbed the 808 LRO, the sneaker pays tribute to Roland’s legendary TR-808 drum machine — a cornerstone of early hip-hop, electro and dance music. The shoe’s design draws from the rhythm machine’s retro aesthetic, featuring vibrant accents, tonal paneling and a translucent sole that echoes the colorful LED interface of the TR-808. The collaboration bridges skateboarding and sound, with the TR-808 also used in the production of Lemos’s skate video soundtracks, reinforcing a natural creative synergy between skate culture and beat-driven music. The 808 LRO aims to blend performance design with nostalgic flair.
